Ogdensburg – Funeral services for Mrs. Bonnie L. Rand, R.N., 59, of Haggart Road, Ogdensburg will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2012 at 11:00 am at Foxwood Mausoleum Chapel, Ogdensburg with Fr. Jay Seymour, pastor of St. John the Evangelist Church, Morristown, officiating. Entombment will follow in the mausoleum at Foxwood Memorial Park. Arrangements are with the Fox & Murray Funeral Home, Ogdensburg.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday 4pm – 7pm at the Fox & Murray Funeral Home, and also 10:00 am – 11:00 am, at the mausoleum, prior to the funeral service on Wednesday.

Mrs. Rand died on Thursday morning, Aug. 30, 2012 at the United Helpers Riverledge Health Care Facility, Ogdensburg . She had been in failing health since Dec. of last year.

Surviving are; her husband, Brett; 1 son, Brad, and his wife, Jennifer; 1 daughter, Lisa, all of Ogdensburg, 2 sisters; Mrs. Randy (Carol) Gadway, Plattsburgh, Ms. Sharon Pavone, Peru, NY, 5 brothers; Randy Howard, Scott Howard and companion, Debbie, Mark Howard, Todd Howard and wife, Wendy, Craig Howard and companion, Kathy – all of Plattsburgh, 5 grandchildren; Dylan Troy, and Rand children, Gage, Avery, Alexis and Blake.

Mrs. Rand was born in Plattsburgh, NY on June 2, 1953, the daughter of Robert C. & Kathryn Drowlette Howard. She graduated from Plattsburgh High School in 1971, and from the St. Lawrence State Hospital School of Nursing in 1974. She married Brett M. Rand on Apr. 27, 1974 at Our Lady of Victory Church, Plattsburgh. She became a Registered Nurse first working in Private Duty, then for a brief period in the office of the late Dr. G Carl Alverson, Heuvelton. She then became employed at the former Cedars Nursing Home, Ogdensburg before transferring to the Ogdensburg Psychiatric Center where she was an R.N. for many years. In 2001 she became disabled and retired. She was a certified Red Cross CPR Instructor, and First Aid Instructor. She and her husband have resided on the Haggart Road since 1975. She was a communicant of St. John the Evangelist Church, Morristown.
