UNLAWFUL POSSESSION - MASSENA - Massena-based state police charged Kristopher Chainani, 26, of Ottawa, Ont., with unlawful possession of marijuana at 10:52 p.m. Friday after U.S. Customs and Border Protection agents had conducted a secondary inspection at the U.S. port of entry in Rooseveltown.

UNLAWFUL POSSESSION - NORFOLK - Massena-based state police charged Darren D. Lafleur, 44, of Norfolk with unlawful possession of marijuana and ticketed him for failure to stop at a stop sign following a traffic stop at 8:11 p.m. Friday on the Grantville Road.

HARASSMENT - LAWRENCEVILLE - Massena-based state police charged Samantha J. Sirles, 23, and Cheryl M. Snyder, 24, both of Lawrenceville, with second-degree harassment on Tuesday stemming from a complaint filed with troopers at 6:42 p.m. Aug. 12 from the town of Lawrence. Troopers said Sirles was arrested at 11804 state Route 11, and Snyder was arrested at 61 Brooklyn Road. Both women were released on appearance tickets fro Lawrence Town Court.

CRIMINAL CONTEMPT - ST. REGIS FALLS - Malone-based state police charged Shawnessy T. Newvine, 25, of Brushton with second-degree criminal contempt Friday following a complaint filed with troopers shortly after 11 a.m. Friday. Newvine was taken into custody two hours later at 36 River Ave. She was arraigned in local court and sent to the Franklin County Jail with bail set at $2,500.

PROPERTY DAMAGE ACCIDENT - DICKINSON CENTER - Malone-based state police investigated a property damage accident at 7:27 p.m. Friday on Yaddow Road, near state Route 11B, in the town of Dickinson. Troopers said the vehicle was operated by Anthony J. Cole, 47, of Dickinson.
