CANTON - Judge Jerome J. Richards handed out sentences to five people and sent two others to jail for allegedly violating terms of their probation Tuesday in St. Lawrence County Court.
Jacob Farrell, 21, of 235 Center St., Massena, was brought to court and jailed for allegedly violating his probation.
Mr. Farrell was arrested on Aug. 25 by Massena Village Police and charged with trespassing and petit larceny. Hes accused of stealing change and 15 X-box games from parked cars on Center Street.
Mr. Farrell pleaded guilty to felony third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance on July 9. He allegedly sold cocaine in March 2011.
He was sent to St. Lawrence County jail to await sentencing, scheduled for Sept. 24.
Marc W. Laprade, 30, of 9851 State Route 56, Massena, was jailed for allegedly violating his probation.
Mr. Laprade, who pleaded guilty to third-degree burglary and was sentenced to five years probation on Feb. 24., was charged with petit larceny by Massena Village Police. He allegedly stole $500 from Laura Deshanes purse on July 5.
He was sent to St. Lawrence County jail and will return to court to answer the probation violation on Sept. 11.
Marc B. Worley, 25, Bernhards Bay, was sentenced to five years probation.
Mr. Worley pleaded guilty to third-degree criminal possession of marijuana on Feb. 23. He was accused of possessing more than 10 pounds of the drug on Aug. 31 2011 in the town of Lisbon.
Jon P. Perrier, 32, of Youngsville, N.C., formerly of Winthrop, was sentenced to five years probation and ordered to pay a $1,500 fine.
Mr. Perrier pleaded guilty to felony driving while intoxicated on June 5. He tested a 0.15 percent BAC after being pulled over in the town of Brasher in December 2010.
Michael K. Estes, 33, of 718 Linden St., Ogdensburg, was sentenced to five years probation and ordered to pay a $2,000 fine.
Mr. Estes, who pleaded guilty to felony driving while intoxicated on June 11, tested a 0.20 percent BAC while traveling on State Street in May 2010.
Patrick J. Murphy, 24, of 825 S. Water St., Ogdensburg, was sentenced to five years probation and ordered to pay $166.46 in restitution.
Mr. Murphy pleaded guilty to felony fifth-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance on March 30, 2011, then was sentenced to 1 year of interim probation in June 2011.
He was accused of selling heroin in April 2009.
Danielle M. Sawyer, 27, of 270 Pyrites Russell Road, was sentenced to one year of interim probation.
Ms. Sawyer pleaded guilty to felony fourth-degree grand larceny on June 4. She was accused of stealing a pink purse containing credit cards from Edwards-Knox Central School in December 2011.
