Dorothy J. Romeo, 90 of Ridgewood Ave, Massena died peacefully Tuesday morning (September 4, 2012) under hospice care at the Massena Memorial Hospital surrounded by her loving family. Family and friends are invited to call Wednesday from4 until 7 pm at the Phillips Memorial Home, Massena. A Mass of Resurrection will be held Thursday (September 6, 2012) at noon at the Church of the Sacred Heart with Rev. Donald J. Manfred presiding.

Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice & Palliative Care of St. Lawrence Valley. Surviving Dorothy are her children; Mrs. James (Jean) Bronchetti of Massena, Mrs. Victor(Joan) Bocskor of Naples. Fl., Mrs. Duane (Janice) O’Brien of Estero, Fl, Joseph M. of Scotia. NY,Thomas D. and wife Cathy of Laurel MD, John P. and wife Kathy of Massena, Jeff R. and wife Sharon of Syracuse, NY, Jay C. and wife Paula of Scotia, NY, 17 grandchildren, five great grandchildren.

Dorothy was preceded in death by a sister Barbara Viola and her brother Robert Devitt. Dorothy was born in Ogdensburg July 25, 1922 the daughter of S. Floyd and Mildred (Shonyo) Devitt. She graduated from Brasher Falls High School. Dorothy was joined in marriage to Thomas D. Romeo June 6, 1941 at the Church of the Sacred Heart with Rev. Gerald Kellogg presiding. Thomas died January 6, 1982. Dorothy was a devoted wife and mother enjoying her family. She was involved in the Massena Senior Citizens, the L.C.B.A. and was active playing bingo.
