Elizabeth Linnea Farris Norris, 78, peacefully passed away on Monday, September 3, 2012 in The Woodlands, Texas surrounded by her loving husband and four daughters. Affectionately known as Gramma Bet, she left a legacy of love, laughter and selflessness. Her positive spirit and energy uplifted all who knew her.
Gramma Bet was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and daughter. She was born in Lexington, Kentucky to Elgan and Evelyn Farris. She earned her teaching degree at the University of Kentucky where she met and married her sweet Jack. Together they raised four beautiful daughters in a home filled with unconditional love and deeply rooted family values. As a dedicated teacher for over 30 years, Gramma Bet was also a second mom to so many students and made a difference in so many lives. Her iPhone was always in her hand and Facebook was a constant source of pleasure. This allowed her to keep in touch with family and friends and reconnect with an unbelievable number of her students. Her green thumb and knowledge of plants, birds and nature was amazing and her beautiful yard impressed all. Her love of reading kept her current with all the latest news and she looked forward to the next novel from her favorite authors. She was a sports fanatic, with her iPhone alerting her to every score. She was a true blue Kentucky Wildcat. Her favorite place on earth was at the beach with white sand, blue water, and her family. She was generous to a fault, effortlessly offering compliments and praises. She deserves every XOXOXOXOXOXO that she so readily shared with all.
Elizabeth Norris is predeceased by her father, Elgan Brooks Farris.
