PARISHVILLE - The Parishville-Hopkinton varsity girls soccer team opened the 2012 NAC season by rallying to claim a 3-2 interdivisional decision at home over Brushton-Moira on Friday.
The visiting Lady Panthers went ahead 1-0 when Katie Traynor struck for the only goal of the first half in the 22nd minute.
Traynor made it 2-0 just seven minutes into the second half before Kodi Perkins sparked a P-H comeback when she finished off a play set up by Breanna Hayes and Michaela Cole with 15 minutes left in regulation. The host Lady Panthers pulled even seven minutes later when a hard shot toward goal by Emily Sloan went in off a B-M defender. Three minutes after that, Cassara Cole completed the comeback when she converted on an assist from Sloan.
Marlee Wilson stopped seven shots working the crease for the win. Emily LaPage had 13 saves for B-M.
