RESISTING ARREST - POTSDAM - Village police charged Steven J. Kerberg, 22, of Winthrop with resisting arrest and unlawful possession of marijuana at 1:48 a.m. Saturday on Elm Street. He was issued an appearance ticket for Sept. 26 in Potsdam Village Court.

Patrol said they observed Kerberg attempting to smoke marijuana in the alley on Elm Street. Police said contact was made with the suspect and further investigation revealed that he was in possession of marijuana. When Kerberg was advised he was under arrest, he began resisting.

PETIT LARCENY - POTSDAM - Village police charged Ashley L. Smith, 27, of Potsdam with petit larceny at 7:14 p.m. Saturday after she was observed shoplifting a necklace at the Isle of You. She then left the store, but Smith was arrested when she later returned to the store. Smith was released on an appearance ticket.

PEDESTRIAN CROSSING - POTSDAM - Village police ticketed Britney L. Wilson, 26, of North Lawrence for failing to yield to pedestrians in a crosswalk following a traffic stop at 7:12 p.m. Saturday on Main Street.

STOP SIGN - POTSDAM - Village police ticketed Jason R. Oshea, 22, of Poughkeepsie failing to stop at a stop sign following a traffic stop at 8:47 p.m. Saturday. He was observed traveling east on Main Street and failed to stop at the stop sign at the intersection with Cedar Street, police said.

SPEEDING - POTSDAM - Village police ticketed Kristopher N. Saladin, 20, of Essex Junction, Vt., for speed in zone following a traffic stop (47/30) at 9:35 p.m. Saturday on Clarkson Avenue.

STOP SIGN - POTSDAM - Village police ticketed Bobbi-Jo Lauzon, 21, of Akwesasne, Ont., for failing to stop at a stop sign following a traffic stop at 9:39 p.m. near the intersection of Main Street and Cedar Street.

SPEEDING - POTSDAM - Village police ticketed Patrick M. Megannety, 19, of Oakville, Ont., for speed in zone following a traffic stop at 10:57 p.m. Saturday on Market Street. He was observed traveling southbound on Market Street at a speed of 45 miles per hour, police said.

0845 Parking permit issued to Madrid resident.

1132 Patrol responded to Damon Hall, Clarkson University, for a fire alarm activation.

1135 Patrol assisted in child custody dispute resolution.

1141 Potsdam Rescue dispatched to a call.

1300 Received report of lost cell phone.

1315 Potsdam Rescue dispatched to mutual aid call.

1336 Patrol responded to limbs down on Main Street. DPW was contacted to remove the debris.

1415 Caller reports a kitten is up under the hood of a car in the Main Street Lot, and she is unable to get it out. Responding patrol attempted to retrieve the kitten without success; unable to locate owner of the car to open the hood. A note was left for the owner to contact the PD before starting the vehicle.

1440 Key and remote found in the Main Street Lot and turned over to patrol.

1443 Patrol responded to the Water Treatment Plant to check on a report of smoke observed by an unknown person. Report was unfounded.

1449 Patrol requested to provide traffic control for ambulance inbound from Canton. Patrols cleared in the detail at 1502.

1509 Patrol responded to a noise complaint at Midtown Apartments.

1622 Patrol mediated a civil complaint.

1912 Traffic stop. Ticket issued.

1914 Patrol dispatched to shoplifting complaint at the Isle of You.

2047 Traffic stop. Ticket issued.

2116 Potsdam Rescue dispatched to a call in Norwood.
