POTSDAM - The North Country Childrens Museum is featuring a series of Saturday afternoon enrichment programs at Clarksons University Bookstore throughout the year through the museums Museum Without Walls.
Children ages one-18 will have the opportunity to experience a variety of disciplines ranging from robotics, music & performance, and fitness & body movement, to the exploration of Adirondack waterways and early childhood play. A rotating schedule of the various age groups and subjects has been established.
This unique opportunity is a partnership among three local entities: the North Country Childrens Museum, Clarkson University and SUNY Potsdam.
Museum volunteers will offer curriculum and instruction; Clarkson University will host each event at their downtown Market Street University Bookstore location; and SUNY Potsdam will process participant registrations through the Center for Lifelong Education and Recreation.
This is a great opportunity for all three organizations to offer their expertise and services for local community members to take advantage of the talents and knowledge of the North Country Childrens Museum volunteers associated with the local institutions of higher education and the surrounding community, said Jim Carroll, developer of the museums Robot Zone programs and director of Clarksons Northern NY Robotics Academy.
Each workshop costs $10 per child to attend. For more information or to pre-register for a program, please contact the Center for Lifelong Education and Recreation at 315-267-2167, or visit their Web site at http://www.potsdam.edu/community/clear. While pre-registration is encouraged, walk-ins are welcome.
