Eileen J. OBrien, 50 of 48 Windsor Rd, Massena passed away Sunday evening September 9, 2012 after a long illness.
Eileen was born in Massena May 11, 1962, the daughter of Gerald Mark and Catherine Doud OBrien. She graduated from Massena Central School in 1980 and from St. Lawrence University in 1983 with a BA degree in History. Eileen earned her masters from SUNY Albany in library science in 1985.
At the time of her illness she was a librarian and archivist at the Manchester Historical Association of Manchester, NH. She had previously worked for the Vermont Historical Association in Montpelier, Vt. and the NY State Historical Association in Cooperstown, NY.
Eileen is survived by her mother, Catherine OBrien, her sisters Mary (Jack) Mulchay of Alexandria, VA. and Ann OBrien (Tim LaRose) of Brooklyn, NY, a nephew John Mulchay, three nieces Catherine Mulchay, Monica Mulchay and Emma LaRose, her uncle Thomas and aunt Seigrid Doud, her aunt Elizabeth Doud and cousins Patricia White, Mary Ellen Thibault and Timothy Doud. She was predeceased by her father Gerald M. OBrien in 2009.
Friends and family may call at the Phillips Memorial Home, Massena today (September 12, 2012) from 4 to 6 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 12:00 noon Wednesday (September 12, 2012) at the Church of the Sacred Heart with Rev. Donald J. Manfred presiding. Interment will be in St. Lawrence Cemetery, Louisville.
At the familys request memorials are made to the American Cancer Society or Trinity Catholic Endowment Fund.
