WEGATCHIE – Eleanor Mae Kitts, age 85, formerly of Wegatchie, passed away on Tuesday, September 18, 2012 at her home in Ogdensburg.
Her graveside service will be at Oxbow Cemetery on Saturday, September 22, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. There are no calling hours. Arrangements are being handled by French Funeral Home, Gouverneur.
Eleanor was born on September 2, 1927 in Huguenot, NY to the late George H. and Dolly (Landweir) Williams. She graduated from the Port Jervis High School.
She married Ralph Kitts on August 19, 1950. He passed away on July 1, 1979. Mrs. Kitts worked as a county clerk for the Farmer Home Administration in Canton, Lowville, and Watertown for many years. She has lived in Wegatchie, Lowville and Ogdensburg.
Eleanor was a great cook who enjoyed traveling and was an avid reader.
Her survivors include her daughter, Mrs. Richard (Lois) Roberts of Lisbon; two sons, Ralph and Kathy Kitts of Hamilton, OH, Michael Kitts of Wegatchie; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She is predeceased by her sister, Dorothy and her brothers, Robert and Jerry Williams, and Raymond Decker.
