MASSENA - Police charged James D. Tassie with first degree burglary and second degree aggravated sexual assault. The arrest stems from an investigation into a sexual assault of a Massena woman in her 80’s on Aug. 8, 2009.

Police said DNA evidence obtained from the crime scene tied Tassie to the incident.

Tassie was arraigned by Massena Town Justice Gerald P. Sharlow and sent to the St. Lawrence Correctional Facility with bail set at $100,000 cash or $200,000 bond.
