RED LIGHT VIOLATION - POTSDAM - Village police ticketed Sarah K. Shafer, 20, of Petrosky, Mich., for failure to stop for a red light following a traffic stopat 10:20 a.m. Monday on Maple Street.

FOLLOWING TOO CLOSELY - POTSDAM - Village police ticketed Potsdam Police Department William Yette, no age or address provided, was ticketed for following too closely following a property damage accident at 2:59 p.m. Monday on Market Street near Grove.Patrols responded to investigate and requested that both Potsdam Fire Department and Martin’s Service Station be advised to respond.

0217 Burglar alarm at Valero on Elm Street.

0319 Potsdam Rescue dispatched to a call on Washington Street.

0521 Noise complaint on Elm Street.

0750 Patrol requested to assist in locating a student who had left the school without permission.

0909 Potsdam Rescue dispatched to West Potsdam for a male with chest and abdominal pain.

1006 Patrol completed a traffic stop on Elm Street. A verbal warning was issued.

1020 Traffic stop. Ticket issued.

1100 Patrols were dispatched to remove a subject from a Market Street business.At the request of patrols, the subject left willingly.

1155 A subject entered Potsdam Police Department with the paperwork necessary for a temporary handicapped parking placard. Dispatcher completed the task.

1321 Potsdam Fire was dispatched to Clarkson University for a fire alarm activation. Patrols were unable to respond.

1442 Received a complaint from a Main Street resident that at some point in the past several days a mailbox was removed from her porch.

1459 Property damage accident on Market Street near Grove. Ticket issued.

Potsdam Police Department received the report of a property damage accident on Market Street near Grove. Patrols responded to investigate and requested that both Potsdam Fire Department and Martin’s Service Station be advised to respond. The at fault operator, William Yette, was issued a traffic summons for VTL1129(A): Following Too Close returnable to the Village of Potsdam Court on October 10, 2012 at 8:00 AM.

1601 Potsdam Police Department was notified of a juvenile matter, which was relayed to an officer for investigation.

1602 Potsdam Police Department was requested to assist in serving a Persona Non Grata letter.

1608 Traffic stop at the intersection of Market and Elm Street. No tickets issued.

1620 Patrol completed a record check for a NYSP Ogdensburg pistol permit applicant investigation.

1630 Patrol completed a record check for a NYSP Canton pistol permit applicant investigation.

1730 Potsdam Rescue Squad was dispatched for a male patient experiencing chest pain and numbness to his extremities. Patrol also responded and assisted on scene.

1830 Subject entered Potsdam Police Department to request storage for his firearm while he attends university. Patrol took custody of the weapon and completed the necessary paperwork.

2101 Traffic stop on Maple Street. Verbal warning issued.

2133 Traffic stop on Maple Street. Ticket issued.

2237 Dispatched Potsdam Rescue to a call.

2328 Patrol responded to a burglar alarm.
