GOUVERNEUR - Officials at Edward John Noble Hospital were meeting this morning to come up with a plan to address lab deficiencies cited by the state Health Department that forced the effective closure of the hospital Friday.
The Health Department did not order the hospital closed, but it could not function without a lab, which was shut down by the state. All patients were transferred to other hospitals and people were turned away from the emergency room Friday night.
The medical staff met at 9 this morning and the hospital board was to meet at 10:30 a.m.
The hospital had been cited by the state in August for severe deficiencies in its lab.
