LISBON – Donna J. Royce, owner of Create-A-Can, said Friday that her application for a residential building permit has been approved despite questions about the status of the business she is running from her Lisbon home.
Create-A-Can, formerly located on State Street in Ogdensburg, is an online business that ships decorative paint cans to customers. Ms. Royce said pickups can be arranged, but said they wont be happening at her home.
We feel that Mrs. Royce is not in any violation, said Christopher J. Sherwin, Lisbon code enforcement officer.
He said he had talked over the matter with St. Lawrence County Planning Office Deputy Director Jason C. Pfotenhauer, Friday in an email.
Ms. Royce is building an addition on her home.
While applying for the building permit she told Mr. Sherwin she had closed down her business, although it is still operating.
Mr. Sherwin had reviewed the permit approval because of her home business.
