AKWESASNE – The goal of the Akwesasne Mohawk Casino is to become a resort within the next six months.
Progress toward that goal is again coming to fruition with the opening of the West Main Entrance, which will eventually become the gateway to the newly expanded Sticks Restaurant as well as the Gift Shop. The entrance is beautiful and we are extremely excited to show our new renovations to the community and our guests, Director of Marketing Frank Allen said.
The construction phase of this particular portion of the expansion has been approximately three months and this phase also included landscaping of the front of property as well as re-facing of the pillars under the porte-cochere. Guests can anticipate a warm and beautiful entrance with four wood pillars as a focal point illuminated with bright LED lighting with a tranquil water feature beneath.
The Gift Shop has also been located to the right of the entrance for easy accessibility for guests upon entry to the property. The next unveiling is also close as the plans are to open the gaming expansion and its center bar CASCADES in early November, just before the holiday season.
It is also noteworthy to announce the Akwesasne Mohawk Casino with the opening of the hotel expansion, including a pool and spa, in the spring of 2013. It is truly an exciting time for the casino and the St. Regis Mohawk Tribe, Mr. Allen said.
