MASSENA - More than 2,000 MED customers were without power for an hour Monday morning, but chances are most of them didnt realize it until they woke up and saw flashing numbers on their alarm clocks.
MED Deputy Superintendent Dale F. Raymo said the outage, which was caused by a tripped breaker and knocked out power to the villages south side, lasted from 3:40 a.m. to 4:40 a.m.
Its one of the older breakers, and its in the process of being replaced as we speak, Mr. Raymo said Monday morning. There were no indication of faults anywhere.
He said the replacement of the breaker was something planned before this mornings outage with work on the breaker actually already scheduled to begin Monday.
Mr. Raymo said the outage knocked power out to 2,141 customers.
