Massena: Theresa M. Gibbs, 85 passed away Friday, September 28, 2012 at Massena Memorial Hospital. Theresa was born on April 13, 1927 in Waddington the daughter of Robert J. and Mary (Hickey) Hallada, she was raised in Massena where she graduated from Massena High School in 1944. Theresa was employed at one time with Warner Brothers Clothing Co. in Massena. She married Raymond L. Gibbs on January 19, 1952 at St. Mary’s Church in Massena; Raymond predeceased her on July 31, 2008. Theresa is survived by her children, Betty and John Plourde, of Massena, Michael and Linda Gibbs of Mitchell, IN; Cathy Gibbs and companion Gary Willis of Massena. Seven grandchildren, eight great grandchildren. She was predeceased by a sister Catherine, her brothers Gerald and Loris, and a daughter Patricia in infancy, also a grandson Robert “Bob” Plourde. Theresa enjoyed visiting with her friends and family, watching TV and reading the newspaper. Memorial contributions may be made to the Massena Rescue Squad or Meals on Wheels. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 2, 2012 at 3:00 pm at the Phillips Memorial Home in Massena with Rev. Scott Fobare presiding. Interment will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Norfolk, NY.
