Dale Gilbert Sochia, passed away October 1, 2012 at Fletcher Allen Hospital after a brief illness, surrounded by his family. He was born May 25, 1939. He attended Parishville-Hopkinton CSD, He entered the United States Army in 1958 and was honorably discharged. He worked for the St. Lawrence County Sheriffs Dept under Lefty Allen, then became a police officer for the Potsdam Police Dept. for over 20 years, retiring to become a local judge and Superintendent of Highways for the Town of Parishville. He was the pass Commander of the VFW in Potsdam & Potsdam American Legion. He loved working outdoors, enjoyed hunting, boating, and being with his friends.
Dale is survived by Nancy (Schneider) Sochia, His four children Ivan Sochia, Carmela (Tim) Young, Yvonne (Robert) Howe, Kelly (Trevor) DAmour, a sister Elaine (David) OBrian, five grandchildren, two great grandchildren, two nephews & numerous Aunts and Uncles.
Per our fathers wishes we would like to have everyone gather to celebrate his life on Saturday, October 6th from 3-7 at the VFW in Potsdam.
