Funeral Services for Joseph Scott, age 81, of Lisbon will be held on Monday, October 8, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Phillips & James Church with Rev. Kevin OBrien and Pastor Katrina Hebb concelebrating. Burial will be in Campbell Cemetery. Calling Hours will be held on Sunday, October 7, 2012 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at Frary Funeral Home. Mr. Scott passed away Thursday, October 4, 2012 at home surrounded by his loving family.
Mr. Scott is survived by his wife Rita; one son Christopher and his wife Penny of Lisbon, NY; and three grandchildren Jonathan, Harry and Brandon. Mr. Scott is predeceased by brothers Donald, Edward and Elwin and a sister Irma.
Mr. Scott is the son of Ralph and Jessie Graham Scott, born December 14, 1930, Lisbon, NY. He graduated from Lisbon Central School in 1948. He married the former Rita Phelps on June 13, 1956. Mr. Scott ran Elmdale Farm on the Hall road all his life. Joseph also drove school bus for over 40 years for Lyle Flack School Buses.
He served on the Lisbon Fire Department over 50 years where he held the position of Assistant Chief and served on the St. Lawrence County Fire Police. Mr. Scott served on the Lisbon school board where he served the position of president. He enjoyed hunting, snowmobiling and dancing in his spare time.
Mr. Scott was also a member of the Quebec Fish & Game Club.
