FORGERY - POTSDAM - St. Lawrence County Sheriff s Department deputies charged Kayla M. OBrien, 19, of 6 Crabb St., Norfolk, with felony counts of fourth-degree grand larceny and eight counts of second-degree forgery.
following a complaint of stoìen and forged checks. OBrien reportedly stole the checks from thevictims residence in late May, forged them, and then then cashed the checks at local banks and businesses.
The amount of money stolen exceeded $3,000.
OBrien was arraigned by Potsdam Town Justice Sam Charleson and sent to the St. Lawrence County Correctional Facility with bail set at $5,000 cash or $10,000 bond.
Deputies said their ihe investigation is continuing, and further arrests are pending.
