BRASHER FALLS - The St. Lawrence Central varsity girls swim team improved to 6-1 on the season with a 55-30 NAC Division II win at home over Salmon River on Tuesday.
Chelsea Savage was the leading individual scorer of the meet for the Lady Larries, who built a 55-13 lead through the first eight events before swimming the final three exhibition. Savage scored two wins, pacing the 50 freestyle with a time of 30.81 seconds and the 100 freestyle in 1:10.01. Also posting solo wins for SLC were; Kelsey Newtown in the 200 freestyle with a time of 2:35.97, Arielle Simonds in the 200IM with a time of 2:37.09, Ashlin Heinrich in the 100 butterfly with a time of 1:22.58, and Cammie Ramsdell in the 500 freestyle with a time of 6:36.9.
The quartet of Cheyenne Padgett, Alex Craft, Hailey Arquiett and Madee Derouchie combined to lead the 200 medley relay in 2:14.28. Craft, Derouchie and Arquiett also teamed up with Ramsdell to pace the 200 freestyle relay in 2:03.01.
Gaining wins for the Lady Shamrocks (0-8) were Lauren Martin in the 100 backstroke with a time of 1:33.62 and Morgan Oakes in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:46.8. The team of Alyssa Maneely, Clair Russell, Keira Brill and Martin captured the 400 freestyle relay in 5:25.99.
The lone other meet of the day saw Franklin Academy swim against Gouverneur.
