FORT COVINGTON - The Salmon River Central varsity girls volleyball team overcame a strong Potsdam Central start to claim a four-set win in NAC interdivisional action on Wednesday.
Nicole Smoke tallied 21 service points, nine assists, six aces and four kills as the Lady Shamrocks regrouped from a 23-25 loss in the opening set to take the next three 25-9, 25-20, 25-19. Raven Oakes added 14 points, four assists and three aces followed by Cassie Boardway with 10 points, four kills, two aces and two assists. Jackie Benedict finished with 10 kills, eight points, three aces and two assists. Kasennakohe David (7 kills, 6 points, 3 aces) and Wakie Mitchell (6 points, 4 assists, 3 kills) also made strong contributions as the Lady Shamrocks improved to 9-2 overall.
In the other NAC matches on Wednesday, Franklin Academy swept OFA 25-16, 25-18, 25-17 and Edwards-Knox stopped Brushton Moira in four sets 25-12, 21-25, 25-15, 25-22.
