BUFFALO - After falling behind 2-1, the SUNY Potsdam mens soccer team scored three straight goals and went on to defeat the SUNY Buffalo in a SUNYAC game.
Eduardo Figueroa finished with three goals for SUNY Potsdam (3-8-2, 1-3-2) and Ben Firlit also scored for the Bears. Anthony Appiani, Chris Haney and Andrew Dugan scored for the Bengals (1-11-1, 0-5-1).
SLU 0, Rensselaer 0 (OT): Rob Dewald made five saves to help the Engineers (11-1-1, 3-1-1) to a scoreless tie against SLU in a Liberty League game in Troy.
The Saints (11-1-1, 3-1-1) outshot RPI 20-11. Nate Goss-Woliner made two saves for SLU.
Union 5, Clarkson 0: Benjamin Golub scored two goals with one assist as Union shut out the Golden Knights (1-8-3, 1-3-1) in a Liberty League contest in Schenectady.
Sebastiaan Jansen, Sam Hunter and Will Poetzsch also scored for the Dutchmen (9-3, 2-2).
WOMENS SOCCER
Rensselaer 3, SLU 1: Nikki Goodsell assisted on the first two goals and scored the third for the Engineers (8-4, 4-0) in a Liberty League win over SLU in Canton.
Giana Abballe scored the first two goals of the game for RPI. Julia Freisen scored on a penalty kick for the Saints (6-4-1, 1-3-1).
Union 3, Clarkson 0: Kayla Marti finished with three saves to shut out Clarkson (5-5-2, 0-4-1) as Union won a Liberty League contest in Potsdam.
Mollie Gilchrist scored twice for Union (11-1, 3-1) and Michaela Katz also scored.
SUNY Buffalo 4, SUNY Potsdam 1: Meghan Allen scored one goal and assisted on another as Buffalo State (4-6-4, 2-1-3) knocked off the Bears in a SUNYAC game in Potsdam.
Kristin Seiferth, Taylor Volkman and Shaunta Pyles scored for Buffalo State. Erin McClusky scored for the Bears (2-12-1, 0-6).
WOMENS VOLLEYBALL
SLU, Potsdam Split: Rachel Auerbach had 14 kills and Jenna Blujus added 29 assists to lead SUNY Potsdam (18-12) to a 25-15, 25-12, 25-18 win over Sage in the Bears second match at the Ithaca Invitational. The Bears dropped their opener 25-22, 25-15, 25-20 to SUNY Fredonia.
St. Lawrence (7-17) lost its opener to the Bombers 26-24, 25-23, 20-25, 25-17 and then swept Wells 25-17, 25-8, 25-13 behind 12 kills from Lexi Brown and 10 digs from Katie Prue.
