COLTON — Funeral services for 83-year old Mr. Malcolm Russell “Mickey” Greene of Colton will be held Saturday, October 20, 2012 at 3:00 P M at Seymour Funeral Home in Potsdam with Mr. Robert Wickwire officiating. Friends may call at Seymour Funeral Home on Saturday, October 20 from 1:00 to the time of the service at 3:00 PM. Mr. Greene died at the home of his long time companion Arlene McEwen in Colton on October 12, 2012.

If friends desire memorial contributions may be made in his memory to the Hannawa Falls Vol. Fire Dept., the Colton Rescue Squad, or Hospice and Palliative Care, 6805 U. S. Highway 11, Potsdam.

Survivors include a son Michael Greene of Duncanville, TX, a daughter Mrs. Robert (Ann) Bronson of Potsdam, two stepsons Terry and Timothy Shelley, five grandchildren: Celeste (and her husband Gary House of Dexter, NY, Travis Bronson of Potsdam, Taylor Bronson of Boston, Meghan Jones and Sarah Greene both living in Texas, and four great-grandchildren Aryanna, Madeline, Madison, and Olivia, and one sister Irene Wilcox of Malone, NY.

He was predeceased by a brother Dwight Greene, and a sister Ruth Spear.

“Mickey” was born in the Town of Stockholm, NY September 10, 1929, the son of Lawrence and Marjorie (Russell) Greene. He served in the US Army attaining the rank of Sgt. in 1948 and 1949, followed by Reserve duty from 1949 to 1954.

Malcolm was a self-employed contractor and realtor prior to his retirement. He was a past member of the Home-Builders Association, past member of the West Stockholm Fire Dept., and a member of the Potsdam Elks Lodge.

He was married in 1952 to Joyce Schneider in Texas. This marriage ended in divorce, as did the second marriage to Jeanne Wickwire.

Mickey enjoyed his camp on Hannawa Falls pond, playing baseball, boating, bowling, playing golf and spending winters in Florida.

Arrangements are with the Seymour Funeral Home in Potsdam.
