CANTON - An Ogdensburg man accused of robbing a convenience store at gunpoint pleaded guilty Wednesday before his trial began in St. Lawrence County Court and is expected to be sentenced to 12 years in state prison.
Travis M. Howe, 28, of 7035 Route 37, pleaded guilty to first-degree robbery, a Class B felony in satisfaction of an indictment that also charged him with fourth-degree grand larceny.
He admitted participating in a March 5, 2011 armed robbery at Twin Bridges Convenient Mart & Deli, 40 Main St., Ogdensburg.
Jury selection had been completed before Mr. Howe agreed to accept the plea. He was remanded back to the county jail by County Court Judge Jerome J. Richards. Sentencing was scheduled for 9:15 a.m. Feb. 25. The case was prosecuted by District Attorney Nicole M. Duve. Mr. Howe was represented by defense attorney Marcia L. LeMay.
