Potsdam Elks make a difference

CANTON - The Elks in Potsdam recently donated $500 toward the installation of an accessible ramp at the home of an individual who receives services at Cerebral Palsy Association of the North Country. The ramp will be installed by the end of the month and will greatly improve the quality of life for the family at this home.

A request for a donation to help with the costs of installing this ramp was made by one of the organization’s Medicaid service coordinators and the Potsdam Elks was the first to respond.

“The Potsdam Elks are honored to be able to support those in need and strive to make a positive difference in our local communities,” Potsdam Elks Community Service Chair Tim Welpe said.

CP of the North Country Director of Public Relations Makenzie Taylor said, “The Potsdam Elks have always been a big supporter of our organization and our programs. They sponsor and participate in our Polar Bear Golf fundraiser each year and they have made a number of donations, like this one, throughout the years. We definitely appreciate their dedication to community service and their active involvement in our organization.”
