HARASSMENT - MASSENA - Village police charged Nathan W. Sprague, 23, of 263 Reed Drive, Massena, with second-degree harassment and fourth-degree criminal mischief following an investigation into a domestic dispute that took place at 10:36 p.m. Oct. 19. He reportedly shoved his live in girlfriend, Jessica Durand, into a piece of furniture. When Ms. Durand threatened to call police, Sprague reportedly grabbed her cell phone, threw it on the floor and stomped on it. Ms. Durand, in her statement to police, said Sprague was intoxicated and a verbal argument turned physical after he threw a bowl of popcorn at her. Sprague was arraigned by Massena Village Justice Jerome J. Richards and was released after posting $500 bail. Sprague was released under community supervision by the New York state Department of Correctional Services and Community Supervision in December 2011. He ha been sentenced to two to six years in state prison for a third-degree burglary conviction in February 2011. The maximum expiration date of his sentence is July 2016.
