DWI - POTSDAM - St. Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department deputies charged Gregory R. Sayer, 33, of 96 Silver Hill Road, Russell, with driving while intoxicated at 2:12 a.m. Thursday after responding to a complaint that a vehicle had struck the guiderails on County Route 35 in the town of Potsdam. Deputies also ticketed Sayer for speed not reasonable and prudent. He reportedly had a blood alcohol content of 0.15 percent, nearly double the 0.08 percent threshold for a DWI charge. Police said Sayer was not injured in the accident.
