CANTON - Six new graduates of the New York State Police Academy have been assigned to work in St. Lawrence County.
The new troopers have been placed in Zone 2 of Troop B and graduated from the academy Oct. 16 during the 198th graduation ceremony in Albany.
A total of 133 new troopers who graduated that day, 28 have been permanently assigned to Troop B, said Zone 2 Commander Michael J. Girard.
Three troopers are retiring or transferring from Zone 2, so the net gain for St. Lawrence County is three new troopers.
The new troopers assigned to St. Lawrence County include: Nicholas A. Augliano, based in Ogdensburg; Michael O. Manor, based in Ogdensburg; Jason J. Sheen, based in Gouverneur; Miranda J. Ford, based in Massena; Theresa L. McCargar based in Massena and Richard J. Nasca based in Massena.
Trooper Michael Manor is from a long family line of state police service. His grandfather, Larry Manor is a retired senior investigator with the state police and his father, Daniel Manor is a retired Potsdam village police officer who is now working as an investigator in the St. Lawrence County District Attorneys Office. Michael Manors brother, Daniel Manor, is a state trooper assigned to Massena who formerly worked as a Canton village police officer.
