POTSDAM - Panoramic images of Clarkson University’s campus are now available using the Street View feature in Google Maps.

Street View is a feature available in Google Maps, Google Earth and Google Maps for mobile that allows users to explore the world at street level — virtually.

“We’re delighted to partner with the Google Street View team to capture imagery of our campus that enables millions of people to view it wherever they are in the world,” said Clarkson Vice President for External Relations Kelly O. Chezum. “With imagery of our campus available on Google Maps, current and prospective students, alumni and parents can now explore the campus grounds, buildings, and more from their desktops or mobile devices.”

Last summer, Clarkson invited the Google Maps team to visit campus and collect the street-level imagery.

Google has worked directly with many venues to capture imagery of interesting and popular locations around the world, and share those panoramic images. Ultimately, they hope to enable users to virtually explore and enjoy these properties wherever they may be in the world. The latest release of Street View imagery on Google Maps includes more university campuses across the United States, Canada, Brazil, Spain, France, United Kingdom, Netherlands, Israel, Japan and Taiwan.

Since beginning the Street View project, Google has received a great deal of interest from potential partners. You can learn more about the Street View Partner Program at
