DWI - POTSDAM - Canton-based state police charged Trevor D. Wright, 21, of Madrid with driving while intoxicated and ticketed him for operation of a vehicle with insufficient tail lights and a license plate violation following a traffic stop at 4:08 a.m. Sunday on Sisson Street in the village of Potsdam. He reportedly had a 0.08 percent blood alcohol content, the threshold for a DWI charge.



ASSAULT - NORFOLK - Massena-based state police charged James A. Alexander, 52, of Chase Mills with third-degree assault Saturday following an investigation into an incident reported at 9:23 p.m. Nov. 8 from the town of Norfolk. The incident happened at his home and also involved his son, who was not charged.He was arraigned in local court and sent to the St. Lawrence County Corrctional Facility. As part of that same investigation, Alanna R. Cruz, 20, of Massena with trespassing. Ms. Cruz is the mother of Mr. Alexander’s grandchild.



CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE - MASSENA - Massena-based state police charged Casey M. Oakes, 19, of Hogansburg with fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance (cocaine) and unlawful possession of marijuana following a 6:30 a.m. Saturday secondary inspection at the port of entry in Rooseveltown. As part of that same investigation, Alexander C. Garrow, 22, of Hogansburg was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana.



HARASSMENT - MADRID - Massena-based state police charged Gerardo D. Perez, 35, of Madtid with second-degree harassment and endangering the welfare of a child following an investigation of a domestic dispute reported to troopers at 10:50 p.m. Saturday from the town of Madrid.



ACCIDENTS - CANTON - State police from around the region reported they responded to several property damage accidents and two crashes with injuries on Friday and Saturday. Among the accidents were vehicles operated by:

■ Rodney H. Delorme, 58, of Winthrop at 5:23 p.m. Saturday on state Route 11, near County Route 15, in the town of Canton.

■ Peter D. Murphy, 63, of Parishville at 5:28 p.m. Saturday on state Route 11B, near Akins Road, in the town of Dickinson.

■ Christopher J. Niles, 33, of Bombay at 5:16 a.m. Saturday on state Route 37, near Holden Road, in the town of Fort Covington.

■ Randy C. Dunn, 53, of Fort Covington at 11:38 p.m. Friday on Covington Street at North Street in the town of Fort Covington. One injury was reported in that accident.

■ Sarah L. Donalis, 24, of Malone at 11:18 p.m. Friday on County Route 6, near Wangum Road, in the town of Moira. One person was reported injured in that accident.

■ A three-vehicle accident involving vehicles operated by Jillian M. Zimmerman, 24, of Tully; Rebecca J. Miller, 41, of Hogansburg; and a parked vehicle at 6:57 p.m. Friday on state Route 11B, near Mosher Road, in the town of Hopkinton.

■ A two-vehicle accident involving vehicles operated by C.J. Ditullio, 48, of Potsdam and Lyle F. Sloan, 73, of Heuvelton at 11:33 a.m. Friday on state Route 68 at state Route 37 in the town of Oswegatchie.

■ Derrick J. Dalton, 53, of Ogdensburg at 10:28 a.m. Friday on state Route 37, near Connie Woods Road, in the town of Waddington.
