DWI - MASSENA - Village police charged Michael V. Besaw, 22, of 25 Westwood Drive, Massena, with driving while intoxicated following a traffic stop at 3:03 a.m. Sunday on Parker Avenue. He reportedly had a blood alcohol content of 0.16 percent, double the threshold for a driving while intoxicated charge.

He was additionally charged with criminal trespass and criminal mischief stemming from an incident that had taken place approximately an hour earlier at his ex-girlfriend’s apartment.

He reportedly started knocking on the bedroom window and failed to comply with his ex-girlfriend’s orders that he leave the residence. Kharissa Danboise told police Besaw also was kicking the door in an effort to get into the apartment, damaging the casing on the inside of the door and the latch. He was arraigned by Massena Acting Village Justice James M. Crandall and released under the supervision of the probation department. The court also signed a temporary order of protection directing Besaw to have no contact with Ms. Danboise.



DWI - MASSENA - Village police charged Timothy A. Gabri, 55, of 68 Rooseveltown Road, Massena, with driving while intoxicated and ticketed him for failure to stay in lane at 10 a.m. Saturday stemming from an investigation into a personal injury motorcycle accident on Aug. 25. Gabri was traveling on the Willow Street Extension when his motorcycle struck the guardrails about 4 p.m. Aug. 25, according to village police. He was ejected from his motorcycle and landed in the roadway about 20 feet away.

He was taken to Massena Memorial Hospital before being flown to Fletcher Allen Health Care, Burlington, Vt., where he had initially been treated for critical injuries to his head, arms and legs. He has since been released from the hospital. He reportedly had a blood alcohol content of 0.08 percent, the threshold for a DWI count.



CRIMINAL MISCHIEF - MASSENA - Village police charged Chad F. Loomis, 29, of 41 Pine St., Massena, with criminal mischief and unlawful possession of marijuana following an incident at 5:13 p.m. Friday on South Main Street.

He was arraigned by Massena Village Justice Eric J. Gustafson and pleaded guilty to both counts. He is scheduled to return to court on Dec. 17.

Loomis was getting out of his girlfriend’s vehicle at the corner of South Main Street and state Route 37 during a domestic dispute. The door reportedly swung back at him when he was trying to open it so he kicked it open, bending either the door or the hinges on the vehicle being operated by Elizabeth A. Mathous. Police said he was also found to be trying to dispose of a small amount of marijuana and a pipe with marijuana residue when he was being taken into custody on the criminal mischief count.



DWI - MASSENA - Village police charged Remington W. Lawrence, 64, of 33 Hazelton Ave., Toronto, Ont., with driving while intoxicated and ticketed him for two counts of failure to signal following a traffic stop at 11:43 p.m. Friday on Willow Street. Police said they observed Lawrence fail to signal a turn when he turned onto the Parker Avenue from East Orvis Street and when he turned from Cornell Avenue onto Willow Street. Police said Lawrence failed roadside field sobriety tests but refused to take the breathalyzer test by providing inadequate breath samples. He was arraigned by Massena Village Justice Eric J. Gustafson and bail was set at $375 cash or bond. Lawrence posted bail and was released from custody.



ENDANGERING THE WELFARE - MASSENA - Village police reported they had charged Michael A. Wilson, 27, of 8 Somerset Ave., Massena, with endangering the welfare of a child and ticketed him for leaving an unattended motor vehicle in a prohibited parking zone at 5 p.m. Nov. 12 at the Harte Haven Shopping Plaza. Police said Wilson had parked in front of the Big Lot’s store and left the a two year old inside the vehicle with the car still running and windows down approximately a foot. A complainant told police she had observed the unattended child for five minutes and police said another five minutes went by after they were on the scene before Wilson returned to the vehicle. Wilson reportedly told police he had simply run into the store to buy a plunger and the transaction had taken longer than he had anticipated because there wasn’t a bar code on the plunger when he took it to the cash register to check out.



HARASSMENT - MASSENA - Village police charged David D. Murray, 53, of 161 Water St., Massena, with disorderly conduct and second-degree harassment following a domestic dispute at 10:22 p.m. Thursday at his 161 Water St. residence. He reportedly was yelling and swearing at his wife, Erin, during a domestic dispute and then grabbed her arm and tried to force her out the door at the residence.



UNSAFE BACKING - Village police ticketed Christine Wilson, 27, of County Route 43, Massena, for unsafe backing following a minor property damage accident at 11:44 p.m. Monday on Parker Avenue.



INADEQUATE HEADLAMP - MASSENA - Village police ticketed Leevondor M. Domino, 69, of Regan Flats Road, Bombay, for operation of a vehicle with inadequate headlights during a traffic stop at 5:17 p.m. Sunday on East Hatfield Street.



UNSAFE BACKING - MASSENA - Village police ticketed William Rusaw of state Route 310, Norfolk, for unsafe backing following an incident at 6:51 p.m. Saturday on East Orvis Street.



OUT OF RESTRICTIONS - MASSENA - Village police ticketed Nathan T. White, 29, of Massena for operation of a motor vehicle outside of his restrictions following a traffic stop at 2:14 p.m. Saturday on Andrews Street.



SPEEDING - MASSENA - Village police ticketed Aimee L. Brothers, 22, of County Route 4, Ogdensburg, for speed in zone following a traffic stop at 8:42 p.m. Thursday on East Orvis Street.



NO SEATBELT - MASSENA - Village police ticketed Alexander A. Carter, 21, of Massena for failure to wear his seatbelt following a traffic stop at 2:22 p.m. Thursday on state Route 37.



SPEEDING - MASSENA - Village police ticketed Dylan R. Small, 20, of Massena for speed in zone following a traffic stop at 2:20 p.m. Thursday on the Willow Street Extension.



NO SEATBELT - MASSENA - Village police ticketed Charles R. Perry Jr., 48, of Pearson Road, Madrid, for failure to wear his seatbelt following a traffic stop at 2 p.m. Thursday on state Route 37.



SPEEDING - MASSENA - Village police ticketed Nancy J. Farmer, 57, of Massena for speed in zone following a traffic stop at 1:30 p.m. Thursday on East Hatfield Street.
