Funeral services for Brenda Hyde, age 58, of State Highway 37, Ogdensburg, will be held on Tuesday, December 4, 2012 at St. Mary’s Cathedral with Rev. Joe Morgan officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Monday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Frary Funeral Home. Ms. Hyde passed away at Claxton Hepburn Medical Center Thursday, November 29, 2012 surrounded by her family.

Ms. Hyde is survived by two sisters, Lisa Merkley and her husband, Mark, of Heuvelton and Barbara Kiah and her husband, Michael, of Ogdensburg; one brother, William Hyde of Corpus Christi, TX; a niece, Sara Merkley; a nephew, Eric Merkley, and his wife, Summer; and a great grandniece, Alisa. She was predeceased by two sisters, Mary and Louann.

Ms. Hyde was born in Ogdensburg, on January 12, 1954, the daughter of Freeman and Dorothy White Hyde. She graduated from Ogdensburg Free Academy in 1972 and the St. Lawrence School of Nursing in 1975. She first worked in Colby, Kansas where she worked at the hospital for 14 years. She moved back to Ogdensburg to care for her mother and worked at Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center as a nurse supervisor for 22 years.

Ms. Hyde enjoyed knitting, crocheting and shopping with her family and friends. She loved going to Myrtle Beach and Lake George.

Donations may be made in her memory to the Richard E. Winter Cancer Treatment Center and Claxton Hepburn Medical Center Foundation.
