CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE - CANTON - Canton-based state police charged Christopher J. Barney, 34, of Massena with fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance Saturday following an investigation into an incident reported at 4:40 p.m. Nov. 16 from the town of Canton.

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF - BOMBAY - Malone-based state police charged Jamie L. Dustin, 33, of Malone with fourth-degree criminal mischief Saturday morning following an investigation into an incident reported at 9 p.m. Nov. 12 from the town of Bombay.

PROPERTY DAMAGE ACCIDENTS - CANTON - State police from around the region investigated several propertuy damage accidents Saturday and early Sunday morning. Among those were:

■ Miranda J. Ford, 28, of Fredonia at 6:09 a.m. Sunday on state Route 310, near County Route 38, in the town of Madrid.

■ Albert B. Matthie, 52, of Norwood at 11 p.m. Saturday on the Morley-Potsdam Road in the town of Potsdam.

■ Michael J. Smythe, 55, of Moira at 8:14 p.m. Saturday on state Route 37, near state Route 131, in the town of Louisville.

■ Justin H. Poirier, 22, of Moira at 11:56 a.m. Saturday on Burdo Road, near Brunell Road, in the town of Altona.
