Mrs. Patricia Jane White, age 75 of Potsdam, NY passed away on Wednesday, December 12, 2012 at her residence while under the care of her family and the Hospice and Palliative Care of the St. Lawrence Valley. A mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, December 15th at 10 am at St. Mary’s Church in Potsdam, N.Y. with Msgr. Robert Aucoin celebrant. Calling hours will be held on Friday, December 14th from 4-7pm. Arrangements are with the Garner Funeral Service in Potsdam, NY Contributions in her memory can be made to the Hospice and Palliative Care of the St. Lawrence Valley.

Patricia is survived by her husband Thomas Robert White Sr.; her sons David (Karen) White, Jeff (Sue) White, Thomas (Michelle) White Jr., and Terry White and companion Leanne Frediel; a daughter Anne (Joe) Ward; brother Roscoe Hale; sisters Sally Beamish, Geraldine Lawrence and Evelyn Dwyer; 12 grandchildren; 3 step grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; 3 step great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers Lloyd and William Hale; sisters Barbara Perry, Virginia Slack, Dorothy Washburn, Alma Beaudin and Beatrice Podgurski and a step grandson Joel Ward.

Patricia Jane White was born February 7, 1937 in Potsdam, NY to the late Roscoe Hale and Jennie Thompson. She was a 1955 graduate of Potsdam Central High School. On May 14, 1955 in the Rectory at St. Mary’s she was married to Thomas Robert White. She worked for New York Telephone Company for a few years. She then turned her focus to her family. Together they raised 5 children.

Patricia and her husband built their first home in West Potsdam, residing there until 1978 and then moving to Potsdam. They also built a camp in Hannawa Falls in 1968 and enjoyed many summers there with their children. Pat and her husband also enjoyed traveling with their motor home before buying a home in Florida for winter use. She was a very generous person. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She loved crocheting, knitting and quilting items for her family and friends. She also had a lifelong very close friend Joyce Whitney. Patricia was a longtime member of St. Mary’s Church and for years she helped out on the Election Committee at the High School. . Online condolences can be sent @www.garnerfh.com.
