Funeral services for Mark Cook, age 52, of Golfport, MS, will be held Wednesday, December 19 at 11:00 a.m. at Frary Funeral Home with Rev. F. James Shurtleff officiating. Calling hours will be held from 9:00 11:00 a.m. Mr. Cook died unexpected at his place of employment on Friday, December 14, 2012.
Mr. Cook is survived by his stepson, Steven Winter, of Mississippi; his brother, Philip Cook; his sister, Brenda Neadom, both of Lisbon, his stepbrothers, Randy Lawton, of Michigan, Paul Lawton of New Jersey, and Joseph Strait; and his two stepsisters, Sharon Lawton of South Carolina, Joanne Walldell and her husband, Joe, and Candy Bresett. He is predeceased by his mother and stepfather, June and Robert Lawton; his brother, Andrew Cook and his stepbrother, Alan Lawton.
Mr. Cook was born in Ogdensburg on February 17, 1960, the son of June Lawton. He was raised by his Aunt Milly Bresett and her husband, Lee. He graduated from OFA in 1979. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1979 – 1983. He worked at Food Mart in Golfport as a Sales Consultant until his untimely death. He enjoyed playing at the casino.
