Slic bring high-speed web service to Madrid

MADRID - Three residents in the Madrid area received early presents this holiday season as they were selected to be beta testers for Slic Network Solutions’ new fiber-to-the-home high-speed Internet and phone service.

One tester opted for a 100 Mbps package, the fastest available from any provider in the area, and he was extremely pleased to receive over 90 Mbps on his wireless devices. Slic’s installation crew confirmed the full 100 Mbps connection with a wired connection.

Due to its size, the Madrid service area is being subdivided into three zones, the first of which is ready now after successful beta testing. The entire area will be opened by the end of January.

Residents in the area can see a list of addresses and a map of the zones by visiting

This area joins Chase Mills ( which was opened earlier this winter and has seen continued interest as residents in that area are ordering services on a regular basis.

To date, Slic has completed 12 of the 15 planned service areas in St. Lawrence County with Lime Hollow, Pine Grove and Southville areas to follow.
