PORT LEYDEN State police allege that a town of Leyden man fired a shotgun twice Wednesday afternoon during a domestic fight, then pointed it at his housemate and threatened to shoot her.
Rudolph F. Yost, 63, of 2170 Dutch Hill Road, was arrested on charges of second-degree menacing, discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a dwelling and harassment. He was released on bail to await prosecution.
Police said he had a fight about a money situation with Georgiann Platt, 73, with whom he has lived 40 years. He initially fired the gun out a window, police said, then went outdoors and discharged the weapon again. Returning to the dwelling he aimed at Ms. Platt and threatened to fire the gun again, police said.
He was intoxicated, police said.
