LOUISVILLE - One of the highlights of Louisvilles annual Summer Bash each year is the fire department drill teams who perform, but this year the fire departments would not have been available if the event was held during the second weekend of August as it has been since its inception three years ago.
Town Supervisor Larry R. Legault, who also serves as one of the events organizers, said that weekend falls the just before the annual volunteer firefighters convention.
We had to switch the date, so were going with the last weekend in June, he said.
Mr. Legault also noted a second conflict for that weekend, the Bassmasters Elite Tournament being held in Waddington.
We dont want to compete with that, he said.
Well try it and see how it goes, Mr. Legault said, adding that if things go well the festival may find a new home at the end of June.
It could become permanent. We just have to see how it goes, he said.
Mr. Legault also said that people concerned about high school graduations need not worry.
It doesnt get into graduation. Thats the third weekend, he said.
This years Summer Bash will be held June 28, 29 and 30.
