Massena woman charged with altering Percoset prescription

FORGERY - MASSENA - Village police charged Dori A. St. Louis, 37, of 104 Bishop Ave., Massena, with second-degree forgery - medical prescriptions and second-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument.

St. Louis allegedly received a prescription for 30 Percoset pills when she was being discharged on Dec. 16 from Massena Memorial Hospital, but she altered the script to 80 pills before she presented it at the Wal-Mart pharmacy.

St. Louis, in a statement she provided police, admitted she had changed the prescription so she would have some pills left over to deal with chronic pain issues.

“I felt I did not have enough pills because I missed an appointment with a pain specialist prior to this. I was scared with dealing with excessive pain because it ruins me. I know what I did was wrong, but I did it to get through the pain until March when my appointment with the pain specialist is going to be,” she noted in her statement.

She was arraigned by Massena Village Justice Eric J. Gustafson and released under the supervision of the probation department.
