POTSDAM - The village board approved spending over $92,000 in grant money to begin design work on improvements to Ives Park and Stone Valley.
The village has entered a contract with Chazen Companies Inc, Glens Falls, to begin design work on the renovations, which include a playground, walkway and kayak launch.
Walking paths in Ives Park will be part of a larger Raquette Riverwalk, a pedestrian walkway that will link Grand Island, Ives Park and Clarkson University.
The project is part of the villages $2.6 million Downtown and Waterfront Revitalization Plan, which aims to make downtown more appeling to residents and visitors.
