AGGRAVATED DWI - PIERREPONT - St. Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department deputies charged Rebecca L. Hart, 25,of 13 McKabe Rd. Colton, with aggravated driving while intoxicated at 12:46 a.m. Sunday following an investigation into an accident on state Route 56 in the town of Pierrepont. Deputies said Hart was southbound on Route 56, exited the shoulder of the northbound lane and struck guide rails. She then reportedly left the scene and went to her residence. Hart was charged with aggravated DWI and third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and ticketed for failure to keep right and leaving the scene of a property damage accident. She reportedly had a blood alcohol content of 0.23 percent. A blood alcohol content of 0.08 percent or higher constitutes a DWI. The charge is elevated to aggravarted DWI when the blood alcohol content is 0.18 percent or higher. She was released on an appearance ticket for Pierrepont Town Court.
