Funeral services for Michael Whyte, age 67, of 421 Clark Street, will be held on Wednesday, February 13, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Frary Funeral Home with Rev. F. James Shurtleff officiating. Burial will be in Ogdensburgh Cemetery in the spring with military honors. Callings hours will be held on from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. before the funeral at Frary Funeral Home. Mr. Whyte passed away on February 7, 2013 at his home in Ogdensburg.

Mr. Whyte is survived by his wife, Linda, his two children, a daughter, Nicole Hoover and her husband Thomas of Ogdensburg and a son, Randy Farrell; a step-daughter, Bethanie Ashley and a step-son, Michael J. Ashley; his brother, John of Florida; thirteen grandchildren, three great grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by one sister, Emily Patricia Streeter and one brother, James (Tony) S. Whyte.

Mr. Whyte was born on January 15, 1946 in Ogdensburg, the son of Audley and Henrietta (Downey) Whyte. Michael attended local schools in the area. He worked construction all his life, retiring from the city of Ogdensburg where he worked at the Sewer Treatment Plant. He served in Vietnam from 1966 to 1968 where he was awarded the Purple Heart for his service. He married Linda Casey on May 19, 2006.

Donations can be made in his memory to the Ogdensburg Rescue Squad and the St. Lawrence Valley Chapter of Hospice.
