Robert G. Cheesman, 72, died of smoke inhalation Saturday night after fire accidentally erupted in his mobile home at 44014 County Route 2, Plessis, according to state police.
The determination was made in an autopsy conducted Monday by Dr. Samuel A. Livingstone, Jefferson County medical examiner.
Investigator Joseph B. Maurer said a state fire investigator has determined the point of origin for the blaze was an electric cooking stove.
The fire was discovered about 6:30 p.m., and firefighters removed Mr. Cheesman from the burning structure.
