Syracuse-area suspects face pot charges in Canton

CANTON — Three Onondaga County residents face charges after St. Lawrence County sheriff’s deputies said they were found with more than 10 pounds of marijuana following a pair of traffic stops Tuesday night.

Deputies pulled over two cars on Route 11 in the town of Canton, one driven by Heather Wood, 29, North Syracuse, and the other by Deya Williams, 31, Syracuse.

Ms. Wood, Ms. Williams and Dewite Wood, 53, Syracuse, were arrested at 7:40 p.m. and each was charged with felony marijuana possession. Deputies did not indicate what, if any, relationship might exist between the parties, nor did they specify in which car Mr. Wood was riding.

The three were arraigned in Pierrepont Town Court and committed to the St. Lawrence County jail, Canton, in lieu of $3,000 bail.
