FAILURE TO REDUCE SPEED - SOUTHVILLE - A Parishville man suffered minor injuries as the result of a motor vehicle accident on Wednesday evenings snow covered roads.
Canton-based state police reported that Ryan C. Jacot, 20, of Parishville rolled over his vehicle while attempting to turn left off of county Route 47 onto state Route 11B at 6:50 p.m. Wednesday.
Troopers said Jacot was ticketed for failure to reduce speed, noting that he did not slow down as the was approaching a stop sign at the intersection. He then slid through the intersection and hit a snowbank while attempting to turn left. At that point, troopers said the vehicle rolled.
While the accident was initially reported as a personal injury accident, state police said the reports narrative made no mentions of any specific injuries.
DWI - MASSENA - Village police charged Josh S. Beamish, 34, of 68 Curtis Ave., Massena, with driving while intoxicated and ticketed him for speed not reasonable and prudent at 1:04 a.m. Thursday after responding to a report of vehicle in the ditch on Park Avenue at Beach Street. He reportedly had a blood alcohol content of 0.16 percent, double the 0.08 percent threshold that constitutes a DWI charge.
INADEQUATE HEADLIGHTS - MASSENA - Village police ticketed Cody James Delosh, 19, of County Route 48, Norwood, for operation of a vehicle with inadequate headlights at 9:30 p.m. Wednesday following a traffic stop on South Main Street.
STOP SIGN - MASSENA - Village police ticketed Bruce J. Kearns, 38, of Massena for a stop sign violation at 6 p.m. Wednesday following a traffic stop on Grove Street near Ridgewood Avenue.
CRIMINAL CONTEMPT - POTSDAM - Canton-based state police charged Christopher P. Larose, 36, of Potsdam with second-degree criminal contempt Wednesday following an investigation into a complaint filed with troopers at 9:22 a.m. Tuesday from the town of Potsdam. Larose was arraigned in local court and sent to the St. Lawrence County Correctional Facility, troopers said. Nicole L. Harmer, 30, of Potsdam had been charged with that same count Tuesday in connection with the same complaint and was also sent to the county jail.
BURGLARY - PARISHVILLE - Massena-based state police charged Francis T. Green, 35, of 81 B Pumpkin Hill Road, Parishville, with two counts of fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property, fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, unlawful possession of fireworks and unlawful possession of marijuana Wednesday in connection with an investigation into an incident reported a 1:10 p.m. Tuesday from the town of Parishville. He was additionally charged with two counts of third-degree burglary, possession of burglary tools, fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon following an investigation into an investigation into an incident reported at 11:30 p.m. Feb. 3 from the town of Madrid.
UNTAXED CIGARETTES - FORT COVINGTON - Malone-based state police charged Zachary S. Nelson, 27, of Hudson Falls with illegally possession and transportation of untaxed cigarettes at 2:15 p.m. Wednesday following a stop on Route 37 in the town of Fort Covington.
PROPERTY DAMAGE ACCIDENTS - POTSDAM - State police responded to a number of property damage accidents Wednesday on a day that featured freezing rain and snow. Among those were:
■ Jeremy L. Waite, 19, of Potsdam at 5:35 p.m. on Route 11, near Cowan Road, in the town of Parishville.
■ Kyle J. Carriere, 22, of Constable at 12:15 p.m. on County Route 4, near Quain Road, in the town of Bombay.
