NORFOLK - The staff at Norwood-Norfolk Central School recently chose its Students of the Month for the month of January. The students are selected for their academic achievements, integrity and leadership in the school and throughout the community.
Breanna DeShane is the freshman student of the month. She is the daughter of Judy and Bruce DeShane of Norfolk. She likes playing sports and hanging out with friends. She participates in soccer, basketball, and softball. Breanna plans to go to college to become a physical therapist or an athletic trainer.
Austin Cousineau is the sophomore student of the month. He is the son of Kindra and Todd Cousineau of Norwood. He is interested in hockey, art, and other sports. He participates in varsity hockey, Travel Club, and golf. In the future Austin wants to go somewhere with sports; then join the military or law enforcement.
Julia Freiman is the junior student of the month. She is the daughter of Randy and Linda Freiman of Raymondville. She likes competitive dancing. She participates in Key Club and chorus. After high school, Julia plans to go to college to become a pharmacist or a physicians assistant.
Jessica Fulk is the senior student of the month. She is the daughter of Kris and George Fulk of Norwood. She enjoys running, art, and Tae Kwan Do. She participates in cross country, indoor and outdoor track, Student Council, Honor Society, Robotics and art. Jessica plans to go to Clarkson or Norwich University to major in civil engineering and run cross country. She will get a job after graduating from college.
Each student that was chosen received a gift card from a local restaurant. The businesses that donated are the Hotel Grande and Al Smiths of Norfolk and The Hometown Café and Lobster House of Norwood.
