CANTON - In honor of Marchs National Developmental Disability Awareness Month, St. Lawrence NYSARC (www.slnysarc.org), announced that William Briggs was awarded the distinction of Joslin Outstanding Performer, from the New York State Industries for the Disabled, Inc. (NYSID.)
Several individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities were also honored by St. Lawrence NYSARC for their years of successful employment.
Briggs works on NYSID Preferred Source contracts as an employee in St. Lawrence NYSARCs Confidential Services program. He is one of 50 New Yorkers with disabilities being acknowledged for consistent, impressive performance. NYSID is a not-for-profit organization with over 30 years of experience meeting the purchasing needs of government agencies while advancing employment for New Yorkers with disabilities.
St. Lawrence NYSARC was proud to recognize the following employees for many years of service to different employers throughout St. Lawrence County: 10 Years - Paul Caloren, Jodie Sabid, Brent Sullivan, Herbert Waugh, Sandra Whitford, and Fred Wing. William Adams and Debra Delisle were honored with service awards for 15 years of dedicated work. The four people acknowledged for 20 or more years of quality service included: Duane Breyette, Wilma
Carpenter, Arnold Jackson and Roger Smith.
Susan Garvey received recognition for 35 years of service working at St. Josephs Home in Ogdensburg. This achievement is an example of a successful community job placement. Garvey was recognized for her longstanding commitment and work ethic.
