CANTON A St. Lawrence County grand jury handed up indictments in two drug cases and two DWI cases on Thursday.
Katsitsia Smoke, 19, of Hogansburg, and Tehya L. Wensauer, 34, of Greene, Chenango County, were indicted on one count each of criminal possession of marijuana, a class C felony, after police allegedly found them in possession of 17 pounds of the drug Oct. 26 in the town of Morristown.
Kenneth V. Smith, 21, of 80 Country Club Road, Gouverneur, was indicted on one count of third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance and third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, both class B felonies. Police said Mr. Smith sold an unspecified quantity of cocaine to an unnamed person in March 2012 in the town of Fowler.
Terry A. Ostraski, 49, of 20 Barton St., Apt. 17, Parishville, was indicted on two counts of driving while intoxicated.
Police said Mr. Ostraski had a blood alcohol content of 0.12 percent while driving a 2002 Pontiac in the town of Parishville on Feb. 21. A BAC of 0.08 percent or more is considered proof of intoxication under state law.
Ronald F. Saucier, 44, Riverview Motel, Unit 12, Waddington, was indicted for DWI and two counts of aggravated DWI after police said he was driving with a BAC of 0.23 on Feb. 6 on Route 37 in the town of Waddington. Aggravated DWI is charged when the BAC is 0.18 percent or more. Mr. Saucier previously was convicted of felony DWI in 2004 and 2009, according to court papers.
