PAROLE WARRANT - MASSENA -Village police assisted New York state Division of Parole and Community Supervision pick up Kevin J. Brainard, 24, of 69 Sycamore St., Massena, on a parole violation at 1:09 p.m. Tuesday on North Main Street. He was turned over to the St. Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department and transported to the St. Lawrence County Correctional Facility pending a parole detainer hearing.

Brainard had been sentenced in St. Lawrence County Court to one to four years in prison in November 2009 for a fourth-degree grand larceny conviction. He had been released from prison and placed under parole supervision on June 8, 2012. The maximum expiration date of his sentence is Oct. 10, 2013.

AGGRAVATED UNLICENSED OPERATION - MASSENA - Village police charged Aaron K. Lavallee, 27, of 46 Brighton St., Massena, with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and ticketed him for operation of an uninspected motor vehicle and operation of a vehicle with inadequate tail lights following a traffic stop at 9:15 p.m. Tuesday on Brighton Street.

FAMILY COURT WARRANT - MASSENA - Village police picked up Sarah K. Paquin, 28, of Massena on a St. Lawrence County Family Court warrant Tuesday afternoon at 351 East Orvis St., Apt. D. She was arraigned by Massena Village Justice Eric J. Gustafson and sent to the St. Lawrence County Correctional Facility with bail set at $100 pending an arraignment in Family Court. Sheriff’s deputies, who held the warrant, told the court they had been searching for Paquin since October. Paquin also admitted she had missed a Family Court appearance in January on a neglect proceeding.

FAILURE TO YIELD - MASSENA - Village police ticketed Michael J. Macaulay, 32, of Heuvelton with failure to yield the right of way at a stop sign following a property damage accident at 10:39 a.m. Tuesday on South Main at Leach Street.

CELL PHONE - MASSENA - Village police ticketed Ellen A. Mills, 35, of Massena for using a cell phone while operating a motor vehicle following a traffic stop at 5:02 p.m. Monday on Main at Andrews Street.

SPEEDING - MASSENA - Village police ticketed Gerald R. Brozzo, 68, of Gouverneur for speed in zone following a traffic stop at 2:58 p.m. Monday on East Hatfield Street.

FAILURE TO YIELD - MASSENA - Village police ticketed Frank W. Ladue, 72, of County Route 38, Norfolk, for failure to yield the right of way when making a left turn following a traffic stop at 11:50 a.m. Monday on Grove Street at East Orvis Street.

PROMOTING PRISON CONTRABAND - CANTON - St. Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department deputies charged Kevin D. Campbell, 33, of 863 state Route 420, Brasher Falls, with unlawful possession of marijuana and second-degree promotion of prison contraband after he smuggled a small amount of marijuana into the St. Lawrence County Correctional Facility on Monday. He was released on appearance tickets.

ONE VEHICLE ACCIDENT - PARISHVILLE - St. Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department deputies charged Marah S. Butterfield of 1569 Old Potsdam-Parishville Road, Potsdam, with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and ticketed her for speed not reasonable and prudent following an investigation into a one-vehicle property damage accident at 8:50 a.m. Tuesday on state Route 72 in the town of Parishville. Deputies said Butterfield lost control of a 2008 Pontiac on slippery roads, struck the guardrails on the right hand side,and her vehicle then spun around coming to rest facing the opposite direction in the left hand lane. Sheriff’s deputies were assisted at the accident scene by Parishville Fire.

PERSONAL INJURY ACCIDENTS - POTSDAM - State police reported they investigated two personal injury accidents on Tuesday on a day when roads were slick from periodic heavy snowfall. The accidents included:

■ One person was injured in an accident at 7:28 a.m. Tuesday on the Morley-Potsdam Road, near the Barnes Road, in the town of Potsdam. Troopers said the vehicle was operated by Betty A. Caraballo, 44, of Norwood.

■ One person was injured in an accident at 8:06 a.m. Tuesday on County Route 38, near Mill Road, in the town of Norfolk. Troopers said the vehicle was operated by Brandon J. Lauzon, 19, of Malone.

PROPERTY DAMAGE ACCIDENTS - MASSENA - State police from around the region investigated a number of property damage accidents on Monday and Tuesday. Among those were:

■ Benjamin G. Johns, 32, of Potsdam at 4:55 a.m. Tuesday on state Route 11, near the Old Close Road, in the town of Stockholm.

■ Jeffrey G. Guyette, 41, of Massena at 1:58 p.m. Monday on state Route 37, near Route 37B, in the town of Louisville.

■ Stacy L. Summers, 31, of Waddington at 11:10 a.m. Monday on state Route 345, near Allison Road, in the town of Waddington.

■ K.D. Prentice, 41, of Massena at 6:56 a.m. Monday on state Route 420, near Mahoney Road, in the town of Stockholm.

TRESPASSING - FOWLER - Gouverneur-based state police reported Wednesday they had charged Ryan D. Martin, 38, of Gouverneur with trespassing on March 13. Troopers said the charge stemmed from an incident reported to troopers on March 8.
